Creating Beads

Every once in a while I get the urge to create something that has an especially tactile process. True, sewing allows me to fondle fabrics, and collage lets me play with paper and shapes and adhesives. But creating beads from polymer clay takes me back to childhood days of simply messing around with Play-Doh and allowing happy accidents to take place!

Here are some of the beads and buttons – all in blues and greens – from this week, pre-baking. They’ll be sanded, glazed, and polished before I either make them into jewelry or sell them to other artists for use in their work.
