Deadlines Approaching

The last few days have been spent in the studio working on two pieces for exhibits with submission deadlines this week. If you’ve been following along, you’ll realize I just found out about the exhibits a couple of weeks ago and decided to challenge myself to make work for them. One is nearly completed, the other is still only partially finished.

Whether or not I meet the deadlines, it felt good to just sit down and do the work.

Many of the artists I know from the QuiltArt e-mail discussion list have been setting goals and intentions for the New Year. I’ve chosen one word as a touchstone, and, so far at least, it has been enormously useful in helping me stay on track.

Focus.
