Final Collage Mania Piece

Last evening I finished my third piece for Collage Mania: Transom Study, Sunset.

In this small art quilt from my series The Richest Hill, the fabric is pleated, fused, and hand stitched. I used a combination of commercial and hand painted cottons. This is the view in the transom window over my back porch door. I have watched it in all kinds of weather, at all times of day, and the permutations are endless and fascinating.

Collage Mania opens on May 5, but there will be an online preview of all works available beginning on April 29. This is a terrific way to acquire some fabulous artwork from some very well known fiber artists at very affordable prices while supporting the American Cancer Society. Because of the direct donation method of acquisition, you can be sure that 100% of your donation goes to the ACS.

As of this writing, Fiberart For a Cause has raised over $170,000!
