Texture

My current piece is a very simple geometric design of rectangular shapes. While looking at it laid out this weekend, I decided that it really needed a different background treatment. The plain fabric was just too… well, plain.

I auditioned other materials in various colors and patterns, but came to the conclusion that what it really needed was not color or pattern, but texture. So I have begun adding random stitching to the original plain yellow cotton. I like it a lot more now.

Of course, we’ll see if I still like it when the texturing is complete and the other shapes are added!
