New Visions Gallery at Marshfield Clinic hosted an opening reception yesterday for my current curatorial effort.
As you can see from this photo taken just before the doors opened, the Stitched Together exhibition is hung beautifully! It was such a thrill to see it looking so amazing since I had only previously seen the gallery space during a transition when I delivered the exhibit. It is a great space, and the staff are wonderful.
Two of the artists were able to attend the reception. Judy Zoelzer Levine (Milwaukee, WI) and Pat Brooks Gaska (Rothschild, WI) both had a chance to be featured on a video about the exhibition created for the local community television station.
I’ll be posting many more photos on the exhibition website in the next couple weeks or so. Please check it out, and if you find yourself in Northern Wisconsin before the end of October, please stop in and view the exhibition. Textile exhibits typically bring in many visitors and we’d love to encourage fiber-friendly venues with large attendance.
